An Online Discussion

From November 2000 to April 2001, we at the Morino Institute hosted an online discussion forum as a way of using the online medium itself to help us refine the premises of the From Access to Outcomes report.

As a supplement to the report, we wanted to offer you an opportunity to read some of the original material from this rich online discussion. Of course, wading through a long list of old messages is, at best, difficult and tedious. So we have created summaries of each of the major discussion themes.

These summaries contain key excerpts from the participants’ messages (also known as "posts"). Some of the discussion themes, such as "Making the Case for Technology Within the Community," track quite closely with the contents of the report. Other themes, such as "Creating a Digital Peace Corps," offer valuable insights that go beyond the scope of the report.
